Unthinkable is a thriller about the interrogation of an American muslim terrorist who releases a video to the media where he explains he has three nuclear bombs hidden in three separate locations and they will explode in a few days at a certain time. Now i know what your thinking, doesn't sound very original right? However its the angle of focusing on the interrogation that makes this film a refreshing watch.

I watched Unthinkable last night after seeing the trailer last week. What initially attracted me from the trailer was to see the performance of Michael Sheen as the terrorist and although it wasn't his best performance, as a fan i wasn't disappointed. I also liked the performance of Carrie-Anne Moss, who i wasn't a fan of after The Matrix, but she added, i thought, good human emotions to the various situations in the film.

I thought the pace of the film was good. It keeps you interested and never really gets to boring. The torture scenes throughout the movie are graphic, yet the film cleverly keeps you on the fence as to whether or not you feel the torture is needed and wether or not you should be sympathetic.

Although not enough to ruin the movie i did have slight issues with the character played by Samuel L. Jackson. He plays 'H' the guy the government call in to do the interrogation. It may just be me, but the character didnt really have the menacing impact on me that i was expecting. I cant decide if this was just an under-thought character however, or if Jackson just didnt suit the part.

All in all Unthinkable is one of the better thrillers that throws up some really interesting current issues and tells a good story at the same time. The casting, on a whole, is good and it has enough twists and turns, even if slightly predictable, to keep you interested.

This is certainly one to watch.

I would say that this film was predictable but it was too ridiculous for that. None of it even tried to be remotely realistic & the story itself was utter absurd drivel. Samual L Jackson must really be struggling for cash to put his name to this. Makes 'Snakes on a plane' seem like a literary classic.

the most horrific scene was deleted, in which Samuel L. Jackson tortures the terrorist by forcing him to watch Mary Poppins

Great film, very thought provoking. They don't write many films this good anymore. Be glad you don't make these kind of decisions, I know I'm certainly glad I don't
