this film was recently showcased at the Cannes film festival and is superb.

Up features the voices of Edward Asner, Christopher Plummer, Bob Peterson and Jordan Nagai.

Up is a computer-animated comedy-adventure about a cranky old man called Carl Fredricksen (voiced by Edward Asner) and an overeager Wilderness Explorer Scout called Russell (voiced by Jordan Nagai) who wants to earn his 'assisting the elderly' badge which is the only one that he does not have.

Carl wants to keep a promise to his deceased wife Ellie to fly to Paradise Falls in South America - so he devises a way to keep this promise by creating a makeshift airship using thousands of helium balloons which will lift his house off its foundation.

Russell meanwhile has stowed away on the porch of the house after being sent on a snipe hunt by Carl the day before.

Both are now aboard the floating house suspended from helium balloons on an adventure of a lifetime.

    Well worth watching !

Lovely, lovely, lovely. Funny, moving and beautiful. I defy anyone not to have a tear in their eye during the opening montage, and not to laugh out loud at the dogs! And the animation is just so beautifully done.

Cartoon animation about old couple, and eventually widower who floats away in his house by attaching it to balloons. Includes big bird and dog. Contains, morals, messages and is surprisingly deep and emotional.

Pixar do it again. Wonderful. The only 'cartoon' that has actually made me cry. Just watch the 'ageing' scene over again and you will see your life in a nut shell. It don't seem much do it? Superb voice overs from all the cast. Ed Asner is exceptionally good.

This is truly a wonderful film,I am sure the 1st 20 minute will bring tears to your eyes, so poignant. I always think that a great film have good characters whether it animation or real. Just like Woody & Buzz lightyear in TOY STORY, Here you have an elderly man who looks back on his life and the things he dreamed of doing, but never did, He is then befriended by a young lad on an adventure with his floating house. The children's film also has it dark moment and nasty little animals & baddie. Hats off to Pixar for making an original & lovable film.
