Jack Warden stars as Luke and Roy L. Fuchs--feuding used car-selling twin brothers who square off in an outrageous, all-out attempt to put each other out of business. Rudy Russo (Kurt Russell), Luke's star salesman, is doing all the lying and cheating that he can in the name of the cause, but only in preparation for what he feels is his true calling--a career in politics! You'll howl at the proceedings, which involve strippers on television and a 200-car chase that turns into a full-on demolition derby. Director Robert Zemeckis (BACK TO THE FUTURE, CAST AWAY) also assembled a first-rate supporting cast (featuring Michael McKean, Joe Flaherty, and Gerritt Graham) for this raunchy, action-packed, and hilarious cult favorite.

Tasteless, risqué, outrageous and amoral, this early offering from director Robert Zemeckis (there are signs of his future Forrest Gump greatness) is all these things and more. But it's also one of the funniest ruminations on American values, as the car showroom becomes a warped microcosm of society. Revealing Kurt Russell's under-utilised talent as a first-rate comedian, it's a good-natured, if highly eccentric, wisecracker, finding untold amounts of amusement in the misfortunes and embarrassment of others.
"...A foul-mouthed, bumper-crunching farce....It wipes out THE BLUES BROTHERS, CADDYSHACK...and just about every other recent comedy..."
This film is a classic, I loved this film when I was a kid, the cars are a big winner for me classic american muscle cars, it also features 'Kurt Russell' in I think his first role? This film was also written and directed by Bob Gale and 'Robert Zemeckis' who also made the brilliant Back to the Future trilogy! The humour is more wild than B2TF but still has that loveable chemistry! Has a tinge of Benny hill style comedy in parts with plenty of Ladies baring this and that but the whole mix up of actors and quirky chracters produces a formula that works! Highly Recommend this unless your dead, in which case you wont laugh and enjoy it!
A film to watch if you fancy something that doesn't take a great deal of concentration to follow. It is laugh out loud funny in parts and good enough to stop you falling asleep. The dog is particulary good.
