A whole load of Vampire funBy LeoM (19 reviews) from London , 07 May 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]Van Helsing hurtles along at one hell of a rate with scene after scene of monster smashing carnage as Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale do their best to annoy Dracula and his unholy friends!
I thought this film was visually spectacular and was just a lot of fun. Kate Beckinsale is absolutely stunning and there are also some seriously hot Romanian vampire chicks flying about to boot.
Get off your high horses fellow reviewers and stop taking it all so seriously. This film isnt looking to win any awards with its in depth story line and narrative - its just a bit of CGI fun. So enjoy.

CheesyBy a customer from Gillingham , 21 Feb 2009After seeing Jackman as Wolverine and Beckinsale as (can't remember the name) some vampire girl in very tight black leather (really, how did she act in Underworld, and did we notice?), putting them together should have been quite good.
However, this is pure special effects cut-scenage. If you want plot, look elsewhere. If you want mindless cheesy mayhem for an evening, this fits the role perfectly. I can't say it's bad, because I actually quite enjoyed it. But then I can't say it's a great piece of filmmaking either. It is pure cheese and hammage.
But sometimes you just watch stuff like this, and you don't care.
BrilBy a customer from Sheffield , 12 Feb 2009have seen this at least twice and enjoyed it, really wish they would make a sequel to it.
VAN HELLBy a customer from NORTH WEST , 17 Jan 2009Hugh jackman at his best - quite scarey for a 12 I thought - but good evenings entertainment

Don't try to over annalyze Van Helsing and it'll be a good watch.By BooRaider (7 reviews) from Uxbridge , 13 Oct 2008If you want a film that will give you something enjoyable to watch with great effects and not have to worry about a complex plot then Van Helsing is the film for you.
Our family watched it while we ate a take-away on a Friday night and it was a nice easy evening.
The kids loved it, all those monsters and none of them overly scarey, our 8 year old son now wants it for Christmas.
The end of the film was a little lame compared to the 100 miles an hour pace of the rest of the film, but that aside, watch it for what it is......a good old romp through Transylvania with something for everyone, Hugh Jackman for the ladies, Kate Beckinsdale for the gents and a lot of monsters, mayhem and funny moments for the kids.
