I had never heard of this film until I saw it on a trailer on another film I rented. It looked interesting so I gave it a shot and I'm glad I did ! The ever excellent Tom Bell plays an IRA terrorist who escapes from jail to return to Ireland and his old comrades. This is a beautifully shot film, with a surprising performance from Susan Hampshire as a fellow idealist who plays it straight and grim .The film is genuinely exciting and unusual as an early depiction of IRA activities.
