Wait Up Harriet

This film is a real oddity. (It is in English not Spanish please note Love Film editors) It has apparently been shot on a tiny budget and with a clunking script. You need to approach this film with a certain amount of good will as it falls short on a number of fundamental technical levels: lighting, editing, sound and sometimes the acting. This may be due to the budget or the fact that apparently it is mostly using talented amateurs. Sometimes artlessness is a strength in Indy type films but this feels like a student production. The deal breaker for me in this film is that there is a hard core Christian /Born again message in here which feels like a sledge hammer in what would otherwise be a potentially very poignant story. If you don't want a relentless Christian message banged down your throat avoid this one unless you are interested in odd and curious films. And this is certainly a curiosity.

A very good film. Angus Benfield is amazing and the plot is a good one. Simple story but very touching. A pleasure to watch. I did not know this actor but I am going to watch more of his works.
