This movie was my first encounter with Christopher Guest, yes I saw it even before Spinal Tap, and it is nothing short of BRILLIANCE. Why it has never been released here is unfathomable to me (I saw it in America).
All Guest's regulars come together in this 'documentary' that follows a small town community theatre production that believes it has what it takes to go to Broadway, if only the reviewer would show! Buy, rent, steel, fly to America, do what ever you can to see this film!
i normally give films at least 30 minutes for the benefit of the doubt if i'm not sure. but even so, thats a long time to watch absolute cr*p. weird town with weird peole. big deal, have no idea how it ends because it was painful after the first 2 scenes
