Dated

I was very disappointed - the film is so dated. I found the "plot" as such bewildering and finally ludicrous. There were some nice shots of outback creatures and landscapes but I couldn't for a second believe in the characters and as for living for several days on only the juice from a tin of cherries in the Australian desert....? and mysterious "oases" that dry up suddenly in the night....? Maybe we're all spoilt by today's modern films and the cinematic prowess built up over the years on the backs of films like this, but I could not help but laugh and marvel at how differently we view the world now than we did thirty years ago.
