Great addition to the TV detectives.

I'm not familiar with the original Swedish Wallander TV shows so came to this with a fresh perspective.
Once I'd got over the rather strange fact that all the actors speak English and don't even try to adopt a Swedish accent yet the drama takes place in Sweden. With, bizarrely, Swedish text shown on computer screens etc, I really enjoyed this.
It is slow and drawn out. Has a rather Morse like pace in fact. Probably lovers of that show's slow builds and melancholy will delight in this.
It's not perfect, a few times the plot feels a little thin and could have done with some more depth, but each episode has enough atmosphere to draw you in and hold your attention until the end. I'd particularly recommend this to Blu Ray ownwers. Worth watching for the stunning HD cinematography alone.- Was this review helpful to you?

Poor Imitation
By Tufty2 (4 reviews) from Ripon , 15 Apr 2010None of the British made Wallanders are a patch on the Swedish ones. The acting is poor and the atmoshere lacking. If you want to see great drama go for the real thing.- Was this review helpful to you?

Dull Dull (title had to contain two words)
By BeachyHead (14 reviews) from Eastbourne , 22 Feb 2010I had ordered series one and two of this based on reviews etc.
Sat down to watch the first disc yesterday (21/02/10) and the time dragged so slowly; I thought that the interest in this series would never start ....it never did. I turned off after about 20 minutes, I just couldn't stand anymore of it.
It felt as if I were watching it under the influence of sleeping pills; so slow and dull.- Was this review helpful to you?
