    Glorious 18 rated action-fest!

With the director of Nightwatch and Daywatch, the two wildly bizarre Russian vampire flicks, behind the lens it was obvious that this film was going to deliver visually, and it is more than safe to say it does just that. From the offset we are thrust into a world of bizarre physics, impossible feats, and glorious violence. A lot of the styles of the Nightwatch films are drawn into this adaptation, delivering a film which could have just been yet-another-Matrix-wannabe, but instead steps into its own shoes and packs one heck of a punch.

As the everyman, put-upon accounts manager who finds himself drawn into the dark world of assasins leagues, James McAvoy was a curious choice. Having non of the mannerisms of the character he was to play from the comic series, it was unsure if he could fit the role. Instead of trying to fit it, he tailors it to himself, and this helps you believe in him at the start. He plays 'normal' so well, that the struggle for him to become the best assassin, and to perform impossible tasks such as bending bullets, is one which will have you rallying behind him and cheering at all his achievements. A lot more convincing that Keanu's 'I know kung fu!'

The support cast are fabulous, and Angelina Jolie is on top form, both looking and acting everyone off screen. Morgan Freeman hams up his part to beautiful degrees, never letting the more ridiculous concepts the film has on offer get in the way of a strong delivery, and after a quick speech by him you really do believe that the impossible is possible.

Quite a lot is dropped from the comic, and the depth of character that many fans love so much is jettisoned to refine the film into a pure adrenaline-fuelled visual fest. This may upset some, but if you want bang-for-your-buck then it certainly delivers.

OK - cool special effects, but really, the plot is SHEER LUNACY. I like my action films to have at least SOME intelligence. This unravels - like the loom!??!

    Suspend your disbelief !

Brilliant action movie. By far the best I have seen in a long time. A super mix of Sci - Fi, Fantasy and action. Almost the film that you hoped The Extrordinary League of Gentlemen might have been ( Does that make sense ? ). Completely unbelievable from start to finish so if you want realism in your movies then this one is not for you. If you are willing however to suspend your disbelief for an hour or two then you will love this. Go on you know you want to - get it on your list.

    wow

This could be, quite possibly be the best action film that I have seen all year. This movie had it all, and it even kept out all that soppy violence. The story line, in parts, was rather confusing but somethings were believable and everything was great.

The best film i have seen all year.

    it was amazing.

i would recommend it to all !

    UN-Wanted

O.M.G. it's not often i am lost for words, but this was a terrible film. I know plot might not be of the formost importance when your ambition is to be fodder for teenage trouser fumblers, but even by Angelina Jolie's standards this contained more dung than the elephant house(and that is saying something).

The plot is flimsy with terribly stilted stereotype characters and a highly predictable ending. The only people that will enjoy this are teenage AJ fans and anyone who has had a lobotomy.

    Utterly terrible

I saw this movie in the cinema a couple of weeks ago. Easily up there with Vanilla Sky and Alexander as on of the worst movies I have ever seen. The most ridiclious, laughable plot combined with completely over the top stuns and extra helpings of ultra graphic violence that have nol relevance to the movie.

The acting performances are shocking... I could go on and on, this is cinema for people who slow down at car crashes....

YOU WON'T WANNA MESS WITH ANG AFTER THIS ONE, JENNIFFER!

'Calling all viewers- please check in your brains at the cloak room and suspend your beliefs and disbeliefs in the gravity-free lockers. Thank you!'

Well, if Wanted had come with announcements like that at the cinemas, maybe it would not have been mauled with the mediocre reviews it received. But then again, who cares? It's brilliant!!! And seriously, anybody going to see an outing by the director of Nightwatch/ Daywatch expecting a film to play by the rules, is a little misguided, perhaps.

If you are looking for intelligent, logical action - search elsewhere. If you like your badaboom BIG and ravel in crazy stunts and effects, you will love this.

James McAvoy plays the loser-cum-professional-reality-bending hitman (think The Matrix without, erm, The Matrix) and La Jolie gets to train him up in her role as the smouldering, sub zero Fox. Performances all around are capable, but let's face it- the flipping cars and curved bullets are the real stars of this movie. One thing is for sure though: Angelina is perfect in this- Fox could wipe the floor with Lara Croft!

Big loud visual and ballsy entertainment that needs to be enjoyed for what it is.

    SEE THIS IF YOU LIKED

    Essential Action Cinema.

Based on the Mark Millar comic books, Wanted is the perfect example of how an action movie should be made.

Don't view this with the expectation of something gritty and deep. This sits at the other end of the scale. What we are treated to is an hour and a half of some of the best action cinema to date.

The pace is frantic, as we are took on a journey packed packed with Car chases, gunfights, hand to hand combat, gravity-defying stunts and lashings of violence.

Not taking itself too seriously, there is plenty of darkly humour throughout. Alot of this helped along by solid performances from James McAvoy and the ever-stunning Angelina Jolie. Both seem at ease with the subject matter, giving their comic book characters a believibilty. The dialogue is sharp and direct, having the confidence to side step long pithy Tarantino style conversations, that so many current directors feel the need to endure.

If you are already an action movie fan, you need to see this. If you have not yet been converted, you soon will be. Essential viewing.

    Wanted (2007)

I was shocked at the amount of gratuitous and unnecessary foul language used in this film, especially from A Jolie and M Freeman.

The Film itself with Adult Themes is fine, and it was an exciting action adventure. I don't think it is just enough to give it an 18 rating, it needs to be explained that some viewers might find the continuous foul mouthed obscenities most offensive.

The F Word in all its connertations was used 49 times that is almost once every two minutes.

The occasional F expletive is acceptable, but not continuously.
