If you like average over the top 'blockbuster' drivel, it's the movie for you!
By cash00013 (4 reviews) , 15 Jan 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
Oh dear god, you just know this drivel will get award nods. The lead actor, Jeremy Irvine, CANNOT ACT! This drives me insane, no doubt he will be catapulted to stardom with mediocre (and I'm using that term generously) talent like so many others (Taylor Lautner anybody?) and people with GENUINE talent will lose out again. The first five minutes he stares blankly with his mouth gaping like his brain fell out!
My god what tripe. The score was ridiculous, the ginger Forest Gump character (Matt Milne) was laughable! It's only saving grace was the horses!
As usual, it's missed the point, tried too hard thus creating a ridiculously twee sickly eye rolling pile of annoyance. It could have been a fabulous movie, sadly, it really isn't!- Was this review helpful to you?

Horse Altruism?
By Cacs (5 reviews) , 10 Jun 2013This movie should be called 'Lucky' For this horse is truely the luckiest horse that has ever lived, it can dodge German machine guns, Survive no mans land in the battle of the somme, get sold to the army and go to battle in World War I yet it can be re-united with its boy owner in the middle of France.....WTF? This horse is also the first ever Alturistic animal on our big screens. Seeing that his mate, the black horse had a sore leg, 'Lucky' volunteered it self to pull the Soldiers War Machinery instead. What an amazing creature.... What a load of nonsense Avoid Avoid Avoid- Was this review helpful to you?

so bad it's not funny
By a customer , 05 Jun 2013I started watching this and straight away knew it was going to be rubbish, the lighting was so bad, it looked like it was shot on a stage with a fake outside backdrop, the sky was overcast but there were shadows all over the place, the soundtrack was from the 1970s, the accents totally wrong, the story daft, to be honest I turned it off after 40 minutes it was that bad, I enjoyed the TV show Larkrise to Candleford, this film makes me appreciate the set of that show all the more.- Was this review helpful to you?

Heartwarming, emotonal, endearing.
By Big__Al (36 reviews) , 31 May 2013[Highly rated reviewer]
Heartfelt and endearing tale that bought a tear to my eye. A timeless, cinematic master-piece. Has to be added to my Blu-ray collection.- Was this review helpful to you?

Great movie, a must see
By powlerdad (1 review) , 27 May 2013Brilliant movie, it's in my top ten watches, on a par with the best. It is quite slow to get going, but then you cannot take your eyes off it. I think the acting is pretty good actually. You will need tissues by the end of it!- Was this review helpful to you?
