Sadly DisappointingBy a customer , 02 Mar 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]After reading the book I was excited about this film but I was thoroughly disappointed. However, I can not fault the acting, particularly Tilda Swinton but I just felt it didn't do the book justice. It didn't come across well what she was supposed to be thinking and I think if I hadn't read the book I wouldn't have understood it as well as I did.

We need to review the film about KevinBy Crockett (8 reviews) from London , 05 Jul 2013It's a very dark & disturbing portrayal of what would possibly any parent's worst nightmare. To have a child that from day one, for whatever reason, just doesn't fit in. Doesn't love, doesn't feel love and is constantly at odds with his mother. Tilda Swinton is excellent. Ezra Miller is chilling in his role as the very disturbed teenage Kevin. It's a tough watch, but worth it to sit through a film that relies on a good story, acting and almost permanent suspense.
Arthouse at its bestBy a customer , 03 Jul 2013Excellent arthouse film. A thinking persons film. Could make you scared to be a parent. We need more scarey films like this.
really didn't enjoy - didn't watch to end ...By harrietchild (4 reviews) from glasgow , 21 Jun 2013Should have paid more attention to the (poor) reviews! Read the book a while ago but did not enjoy the film at all, well what I watched of it, lasted about 50 mins. Strange indeed, did wonder how they would 'do' the book but not good, in my opinion, difficult to watch, annoying actually!
Very weirdBy Ladygib (8 reviews) , 14 Jun 2013If I hadn't read the book I wouldn't have a clue what was going on. I loved the book and was looking forward to the film. They've tried to make it too arty instead of telling what is a great story.
gave up!By a customer , 26 May 2013We started watching this and gave up. We just couldn't get into it at all. We hadn't read the book and came to it new. Other reviewers say it is hard to get into, so maybe if you persevere it may be okay, but not for us.
