This documentary takes you on a personal journey through one of the worst times for the gay community in San Francisco. Before watching it I didn't have any idea of the timeline of the HIV/AIDS virus, however the director conveys the attitude in the San Francisco area before the disease becomes wide spread and then allows the interviewees to talk you through the loves, lives and at times the heart wrenching pain that they go through as their loved ones and their friends die from what starts out being called the 'gay cancer'.

I watched this film without any real idea of the content, but I am so pleased that I watched it. Powerful, personal, and very well directed, I finished the film with a better understanding as it really opened my eyes to HIV/AIDS and how it effects people on a personal level, however I wouldn't watch this film if were looking for something up lifting but please give the film a try.

I have given 4 stars as I think it is a great piece of work however the end just seems to wrap up too quickly, only in the last 5 minutes though.
