    to jumpy

I thought this film would be good but I watched half and was so bored with the jumping around I gave up in the end.

Maybe it will appeal to some, but I like a film that grips my attention, this just didn't seem to have any story line

    Another Irvine Welsh Cracker

Irvine Welsh has the ability to scrape away the often thin veneer of respectability that we coat our societies in and find and sharply expose, warts and all, alternative values and lifestyles which, given a choice, we would rather keep hidden.

Wedding Belles throws in our face some of the most uncomfortable facets of 21st Century life always shocking, uncomfortably funny at times and always with pace and a relentless iconoclastic drive.

Wedding Belles follows the lives of 4 Edinburgh friends, late 20's lifelong pals who have are approaching one of their weddings.

The would be bride, Amanda, a hairdresser who has escaped the schemes to run her own business, Rhona the ex model whose boyfriend was killed by a hit and run and who fuels her death wish with copious amounts of Crack, Shaz the care home worker who supplies Viagra to the residents of the old folks home where she works while having an affair with the local priest and tragic Kelly a alopecia sufferer whose inability to hold down a relationship, work or deal with a disturbing family life become incidental as this dark, female trainspotting, unwinds.

Shocking, brutally frank and uncomfortably funny its up there with Granton Star, Filth and yes even Trainspotting itself.

Behind closed doors, friendship will prevail

Admittedly I am Scottish so can relate to a lot of the language used, but I love this. It should have been released as a film - beats a lot of the cr*p in the cinema. Viewers can relate to this - it has humour and the realities of life balanced throughout. I loved it.

Wedding Belles - as good as but may be funnier than Trainspotting!

Irvine Welsh does it again - never have we laughed so much in a long time! Having watched this film before when it was shown on Channel 4 a few years ago I knew that it was good but I had forgotten just how funny, well written and (scarily) true to life this story is.

You don't need to be Scottish or from Leith to 'get' this film although spotting well known areas in the film is good as well. If you need a laugh PLEASE choose this one!

    Hells Belles

More great work from Irvine Welsh in this black with a capital B comedy. You'l recognise the majority of the cast from Welshes other movies and chanel 4's more gritty sitcoms! If you liked Trainspotting and Shallow Grave you will love this. It is stark comedy laced with serious overtones. Brilliant.

    Dont bother

Found this absolutely un-watchable. Cringey characters set in the slum of Scotland.

    Horrific.

    Tough comic drama

The four women leads in this tough and comic drama are star actors who deliver a movie which has great power and intense humanity. While the film offers a harsh view of contemporary life, it is at the same time very funny. The key to this apparent paradox lies in the enormous skill of the actors, supported by a great script, which gives the film its overriding sense of a comradeship which will survive any and all catastrophes. Ultimately, therefore, although it shows a hard side to life, it is essentially optimistic and hopeful.

    OK

Yeah this film was ok. Good story line and a funny and more realistic story line about the countdown to weddings. (if you are a bit of a sinic about marriage.)

    A good UK film.
