Rutger Hauer's presence in this silly sci-fi excursion is understandable — he's been hard up for a decent job for years. But why is Mimi Rogers slumming as a prisoner in a hi-tech jail? The inmates wear explosive collars, designed to detonate if ever two matching ones get too far from each other. This supposedly keeps the convicts from escaping, since they don't know who their “deadlock” partner is. But guess which two movie stars figure it out? Why the warden doesn't just set the collars to explode when cons wander too far from the prison itself is a mystery.

dated but i still love it
loved this film when I first saw it and still think its great....kinda like fortress/running man (the collar bit anyhow).
don't expect too much in the way of effects....story lines good, with a twist or 2 (sure you'll spot them a mile off).....overal a classic 80's sci-fi action flick...... -
