superb..................

this dvd is superb. My son is a big fan of The Rock, who plays Beck a 'retrieval specialist', sent by his boss to the Brazilian Amazon jungle to recover his errant son, Travis (played by Seann William Scott).
The only trouble is Travis does not want to leave, he is to busy tracking down an artifact of native treasure, a solid gold statue hidden in the jungle.
This artifact propels Beck and Travis between battling armed nationalists, led by bar-owner Mariana (played by Rosario Dawson), and the bad guy of the film, Hatcher (played by Christopher Walken), whose empire is an enormous open-pit gold mining operation, worked by the poor local people, who are kept in line by whip-wielding thugs.
Will Beck and Travis succeed against the bad guys? I am not going to tell you, as this would spoil your enjoyment of the film. Watch it to find out.- Was this review helpful to you?

(174)Classic Action
By Divers (9 reviews) , 21 Mar 2013As far as classic action movies go, this is a topper. Has everything you could possibly look for. Great action sequences, lots of very funny moments, great bad guy and Dwayne Johnson a. k. a The Rock ticks all the boxes for the action connoisseurs like myself. This movie doesnt try too hard to be different, but action movies trying to be different and 'deeper' is what sucks the fun out of it! Nobody wants AC/DC to cover Stairway To Heaven!(as good a song as it is) Welcome To The Jungle is a great movie that I've already saw at least 5 times.- Was this review helpful to you?

By Nedvadead (86 reviews) from Ballymoney , 16 Jun 2012It's Midnight Run with added insects but with only a twentieth of the humour and a hundredth of the charm.- Was this review helpful to you?

The Rock Rules again!
By sirrahnais (11 reviews) , 12 Nov 2011I literally think that it is impossible to get it wrong with a movie that stars The Rock... ok he was better at wrestling than acting but that is undoubtedly his charm. This movie is another classic 'oversized man battling with anyone who gets in his way' sort of movie... massive comedy aspect thoughtout.
Once again as I say with all movies staring the Rock... if you are after 'oscar winning lump in the throat epic' movie do not rent this. If you are after entertaining wooden acting then do :)- Was this review helpful to you?

Good Action Film
By a customer , 14 Oct 2011This was much better than I expected. Amusing storyline with comedy moments. It just gos to show you can do an action film with no swearing which, as a family we all enjoyed.- Was this review helpful to you?

Well worth a watch
By a customer from Farnborough , 30 Sep 2011This is an excellent film with a good story line, action and comedy all rolled into one.
The action rarely lets up and is supported by a good story and decent script. There is sufficient comedy thrown in for good measure.
Some of the fight sequences are amongst the best I have seen and are well correographed - although some of the wire work was badly done.
The film keeps you entertained all the way through.
Definitely one to watch.- Was this review helpful to you?
