[Highly rated reviewer]this dvd is superb. My son is a big fan of The Rock, who plays Beck a 'retrieval specialist', sent by his boss to the Brazilian Amazon jungle to recover his errant son, Travis (played by Seann William Scott).
The only trouble is Travis does not want to leave, he is to busy tracking down an artifact of native treasure, a solid gold statue hidden in the jungle.
This artifact propels Beck and Travis between battling armed nationalists, led by bar-owner Mariana (played by Rosario Dawson), and the bad guy of the film, Hatcher (played by Christopher Walken), whose empire is an enormous open-pit gold mining operation, worked by the poor local people, who are kept in line by whip-wielding thugs.
Will Beck and Travis succeed against the bad guys? I am not going to tell you, as this would spoil your enjoyment of the film. Watch it to find out.

Well worth a watchBy a customer from Farnborough , 30 Sep 2011This is an excellent film with a good story line, action and comedy all rolled into one.
The action rarely lets up and is supported by a good story and decent script. There is sufficient comedy thrown in for good measure.
Some of the fight sequences are amongst the best I have seen and are well correographed - although some of the wire work was badly done.
The film keeps you entertained all the way through.
Definitely one to watch.

Humorous action flick with the great oneBy RumbleBee (1 review) from Redcar , 11 Jul 2011good action thriller with plenty of humour. Aside from the Mummy sequel this is the first film I've watched starring the Rock and I quite liked it. By no means an amazing film. Just your average action flick really, but enjoyable none the less and I'll definitely be watching more of his films.
Excellent mens movieBy TheWaxMann (1 review) from Lancaster , 06 Jun 2011This was a great film, it combines my 2 favourite film genres - action and comedy. The jokes were above average, and I laughed my way through the film. The 2 main actors (Sean William Scott and The Rock) worked very well together, and it looked like they had fun making the movie. While it wasn't the film of the year, it is definitely one I would watch again (having already watched it a few times over the years)
