An absolutely fantastic film that puts most Hollywood films to shame. A war film set in Korea, but rather than 'MASH' has more of the feel of 'Catch 22' and 'Hell in the Pacific' and a touch of 'Brigadoon' to the pastoral element of the film.
The acting is superb and I guarantee you will be drawn into the characters story. Some excellent set pieces, including almost beautiful pyrotechinical carnage.
This is one of the best films I've seen this year. It has verything, from touching love elements to classic macho gun play. Yet throughout there is a mysterious magical element that gives an almost childlike feel to some of the scenes.
