Most helpful review
boredom morgana
By a customer from scotland , 02 Oct 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
I am giving the box set a good rating... but wished to point out here that you will need the patience of a saint to sit through more than the first 5 minutes of fata morgana. Herzog's film's are usually stunningly good... cobra verde is just astonishing !!!! .... but fata morgana ? expect to be very disappointed.- Was this review helpful to you?

(10)Seminal Herzog
By Lugodoc (106 reviews) from Portsmouth, UK , 26 Oct 2010I didn't used to like Herzog's movies until I realised that all of them, every single one, are comedies. The grimmer they look the funnier they are. Watch these and you will get the most out of the recently released and truly sublime Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans.- Was this review helpful to you?

Strange Ways
By Cato (705 reviews) from Lydbury North , 22 Mar 2010The strangest film I have ever seen, in which a cast totally comprised of dwarfs act out a sort of anarchic revolution in the institute to which they belong. I must admit that I've never really considered that dwarfs do come in different shapes and sizes, but it seems that there are some who are much smaller than others, some that are more badly behaved, and some whose voices sound more like children than others. All things are relative I suppose. The story is presumably an allegory for the whole human race though, and follows the general trend of all Herzog's films and pessimistic views. The acting seems improvised in the main, which lends much credibility to the action. An interesting film, but definitely not for the squeamish.- Was this review helpful to you?

great I love this film.
By IanL (60 reviews) from Cambridge , 23 Mar 2009I love this film although I'd seen it before it does take a bit to get going. Not everyone's cup of tea but I love some bits of this film. Especially the way Kapsar sees the world.- Was this review helpful to you?

Excellent
By a customer from Glasgow , 21 Oct 2008It's about 17 years since I last saw this film and so I couldn't really remember it in much detail - I was just aware that I had enjoyed it first time around. I wasn't disappointed. It really is a must see, but don't expect any fast moving action - things happen slowly with Kaspar! But you will laugh at times and probably be smiling for the rest.- Was this review helpful to you?

Kaspar still good after all these years
By Moondog (151 reviews) from London , 17 Sep 2008Enigma of Kaspar Hauser
Despite the amateurish look of some of the cast and the over reliance on classical music and scenery to set mood this classic holds up rather well. Bruno S is as enigmatic as the character he plays. Magical.
Stroszek
Only marginally less than Kaspar but Bruno S is better than ever.- Was this review helpful to you?
