Westworld is everything I wanted Jurassic Park to be, in terms of story dynamics. It is gritty, eerie, and really develops the idea of these machines gone wrong. The glassy eyes, straight faces and believability of the robots is the stuff kids have nightmares about. It was made at a time when movies had balls and didnt resort to cheesy kids or self-consciousness. Micheal Crichton also directed Coma, which has a similar eerie-as-hell feel. The last half hour of Westworld is awesome, there is hardly any dialogue, it is a simple primal battle of wits. If you do like this movie, also look at Coma, Capricorn 1, Assault on Precinct 13 (original), Southern Comfort, and 10 Rillington Place.
Delos!- the vaction of the future today! This film starts off with a TV crew interviewing a few people who have been to Delos - a theme park where Robots provide the entertaiment. Always wanted to go to the Wildwest? No problem! With a host of gunslinging robots and - of course - the ladies of the West, Westworld delivers the dream. When two friends decided to visit Delos, however, things dont go according to plan. Everything in the park breaks down and the machines go haywire - killing all the guests! When his friend gets shot by one of the robots a frantic cat and mouse game is on. A game where there can only be one winner! THIS FILM IS A MUST!!!! This is one of my all time favourite films. If you havent seen it, put it on your list! FANTASTIC!
