Mel Gibson seems to be winning the battle of the sexes in this inventive romantic comedy from director Nancy Meyers. Gibson plays Nick Marshall, a chauvinistic advertising executive who accidentally suffers an electric shock and suddenly finds himself able to hear women's thoughts. His unique gift sometimes proves to be a mixed blessing, but when bitchy rival Helen Hunt beats him to a top job Gibson decides to play dirty. Gradually, his insights into how women think, and what they want, bring out his feminine side. Despite the daft premise, this is wittily written and sharply directed, with Gibson effortlessly running the gamut from sheer obnoxiousness to utter charm. Hunt is great, too, as his far-from-perfect love match. A couple of superfluous subplots slow down the action, but otherwise this is splendid entertainment in the grand tradition of those screwball comedies of the 1930s and 40s.
Lightweight romantic comedy, though its central conceit is hardly developed Ð all women apparently, will settle for even an unreconstructed Mel Gibson Ð as subplots of office intrigue and family disharmony proliferate.

Out of all the films I have seen over the years. THIS IS THE BEST film I have seen. If I happen to catch it on sky it's no problem to see again.Women do realy think these things. One to see in company on sofa together.
This film was hilarious, especially the pantyhose scene. It had the right amount of tears and laughter, which played off of each other beautifully.
Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt were both the right choice and pairing for this movie. It was great to see another side to Mels acting. This was totally different from his normal hard man image. It shows that he can act in different roles.
I urge you to see this, if you want a genuinely funny film. It has something for both men and women. A great film to enjoy with your loved one.
Its nice to see a man who understands what it is that a woman thinks about all day and why! A sweet film that is enjoyable to watch by anyone who likes girly films or anyone who likes Mel. don't want to tell you too much... but worth the watch.

After I had turned it off I turned back on again to watch all over again.

What Women Want!.....
well acted, well scripted and well executed. This plot is a wish come true ..like 'if i could be invisible'. Light comedy, a senusual touch, clean movie exploring the depth of human nature.
Watch this ..you will like it.Happy viewing
A Lighthearted romantic film with many laughs along the way. Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt both played their parts superbly. Not so sure about Mel in those tights though! If you're considering renting this film and even if you're not, I'd go for it.
Big of a film for girls, but still funny. The main plus point for me was Helen Hunt. Any film with Helen Hunt in is worth watching!!!!!!
So heartwarming and funny. The acting especial from Helen Hunt (who can do no wrong) is fab. Romantic Comedy at its best. Rent it.
A great film for a girls night in. Mel Gibson suited the character perfectly. all in all well worth seeing.
Probably the best of its genre. Whether you watch it for a bit of fun or actually go deeper into the issues it brings up, it's hugely enjoyable from the start. Not to be missed.
