  • Seriously good, Swedish film

I'm never very sure whether to give some of these foreign films a go, some of them can be hard work, and others down right weird. When Darkness Falls tells 3 completely separate and different stories about individual courage, only loosely bringing them all together at the end. Whilst much of the story is not happy viewing it is sewn up nicely at the end and feel that sometimes people will do the right thing despite the consequences. My personal favourite is the young (possibly Iranian) girl and her family living in Sweden, what the family do seems unbelievable if real cases of exactly this sort of thing happening were not on record. It starts fairly quickly, but jumps around a bit at the beginning, stick with it and you will be rewarded to a powerful and involving story from our European cousins, who geographically and perhaps culturally are not as far from us as Hollywood.

  • Too depressing

Be warned that this is a seriously depressing film. Particularly the storyline relating to the sister - I really wish I hadn't seen it as found it really upsetting. On that basis, I wouldn't recommend this film.

  • Scandanavian Crime Stories Rule Ok!

Absolutely brilliant! A gripping movie that highlights controversial and contemporary issues. Every lead actor was faultless and when the victimised characters started to fight back, I willed them on like I would a sports team. In the end, it left me wishing I was a more courageous person and wondering if I could be that brave in their circumstances. What's not to like? The murder in Germany was one of the most harrowing I have ever seen on film so it's not for the weak-hearted. Otherwise superb!

Amazing movie! Deep, dark and up to date. Another master piece of Swedish cinema. The best world cinema movie I have seen in long time.

  • Another, well made, non-English speaking film.

Cleverly put together and quite gripping in parts. As a woman I find it incomprehensible to fathom out how we could have not only allowed, but colluded, in the neurosis of man. Nothing to do with religion,culture...waking up with a headache - more, a world wide epidemic! The real tragedy is: 'women's betrayal of herself'.

Gripping from start to finish! A powerful look at abuse and blackmail suffered by people from all walks of life! It was gritty, realistic and thought provoking! A refreshing change from Hollywood trash!
