This film is boring and as for Sharon Stone who is a great sexy woman what a dis appointment. There is a Monk like male From the American series who plays a slightly imbecilic character who ' may ' { we did not see the execution and I was not sure whether he was dreaming or not } have knifed his abusive next door neighbour. Also the husband who refuses to give a shop robber his money and is shot as a consequence at the end. Not a great film.

This is a strange film, very believable in that husband wife and son do not live in the same world. The family is not poor and could be judged as quite well off. They are caring about each other but only when one catches the attention of the other. Family members are not enemies but peacefully unconnected. Sharon Stone as a woman once looked at with adoration by men of all ages; now not looked at at all catches the part precisely. A bored, middle aged wife without any thoughts of her own or family feelings. Timothy Hutton portrays the two worlds and his lost character intelligently. The film is very sad, but I wonder why anyone would make a film like that as it only expresses the hopelessness of a life that many people probably feel but do not need to be reminded of.

Three stars because the acting was good with a script that had no merit. Rent but do not buy.

i only gave this film 1 star as maybe it gets better towards the end, but i switched off after the first half, it was awful, its about 3 weird men, one starts trying to live out his dreams, and it gets very mixed up, i suppose you do dream about wants happens during the day, and if you live next door to a wife beater you to, may dream of going in to his house with a big knife. but it was just awful to watch. stupid, uninteresting. stay clear!
