Yet another OTT rom com !

After seeing this rom com I decided to give rom coms a break. They all seem to be the same , with only a few details being the variable difference.I'm truly not suprised most men will need to be dragged to see a rom com. They do not depict men correctly or the relationship between men and women, plus the same plots over and over again does get boring and predictable.This silly movie centers around the unlikely premise that this successful singeton called Beth goes to Rome for her sister's wedding and lands up taking some coins from the Trevi fountain which results in the men that threw the coins into the fountain falling in love for her.She falls for Nick, the handsome reporter and to cut a long story short it all boils down to those silly coins again that seem to be the only thing steering the story.Great scenes of Rome which is why this movie got 2 stars from me.- Was this review helpful to you?

Awful film, don't waste your time!!

thought with the cast of this film being quite good it would be
an OK film but like I said it was awful from start to finish! I
don't usually write reviews but this film was so bad I felt like I

Well I groan
By Hullmig (23 reviews) from Sunderland , 04 Sep 2012Ladies - watch this film if you have been dumped for the first time, think Taylor Swift is the greatest singer/ songwriter or support Team Edward. If none of the above apply then under no circumstances subject the man you love to this tripe. Gentleman - avoid at all costs, there is nothing for you here. Imagine Buffy the Vampire Slayer but without the fighting, blood, humour or story-line - no fun. If you are forced to endure this you will need to find some way to entertain yourself. I opted for the amazing left eyebrow of Kristen Bell. It darkened then grew as the film went on. I had to watch all the film to see what happened to it. Honestly check it out! Apart from that nothing. You're going to watch it for the eyebrow now aren't you? I am really sorry for what you are about to see- Was this review helpful to you?

Positives;
* There are some surprising actors in it
* Josh Duhamel is gorgeous
* Kristen Bell is charming
* Basically, When In Rome is a bit of fun. Its a mindless, frivolous, upbeat film. Don't expect more from it.
Negatives;
* The best friend of Josh Duhamel in the film is creepily clingy and says things that no man would say which completely break the flow of conversation and make it unnatural
*Kristen and Josh's characters say they're in love having been on one date. This is not realistic.- Was this review helpful to you?

Not as bad as I expected
By KittyKatC (1 review) , 25 Aug 2012I think I chose the right mindset to watch this in, I wanted a nice, pointless, juvenile, predictable rom-com to while away a few hungover hours.
To this end it's a good movie.
To say I could have written the script in an hour isn't far off but the characters (who started off annoying) grow on you quickly and kept me interested enough to watch through to the credits.
If you're contemplating watching it then keep your expectations low and don't expect any need to think.
