I'm a celebrity, get me out of here!
By Elaine Mooney from Newcastle, England , 24 May 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
Kevin Bacon and Colin Firth are 2 fine actors who usually appear in pretty decent (or at least entertaining stuff). Unfortunately, this is neither. The 2 stars seem uncomfortable in their roles and play sleazy, hedonistic characters whom you can't relate to or feel any sympathy for. The female lead looks like she should still be at school, and her acting abilities, or lack of, supports this! The plot has a very obvious 'twist' and the whole thing is just very disappointing from beginning to end. It only gets 2 stars cos I love the male leads, but boys what on Earth made you sign up for this drivel?? Very disappointing and would be a minus if not for Firth and Bacon- Was this review helpful to you?

(143)The truth is it is not that bad.
By Bobsview (549 reviews) from Gloucestershire , 02 Mar 2013A thriller with a mix of explicit sex, drugs, intrigues, murder, extortion, and betrayal but is somewhat stilted, and laboured, and fails to satisfy. An awkward pout pori omelette with the central theme of an attractive journalist investigating the fate of a young girl found dead in the hotel room of a once famous comedy duo. She becomes involved with both of them and plays them off against each other before discovering the truth . It is not as bad some of the reviews suggest., It is just an average watchable film.- Was this review helpful to you?

A complete desaster
By mmro (2 reviews) , 01 Dec 2012You can see that a lot of effort was put into the design and set of this movie, but it doesn't pay off for the poor script, shocking acting of the lead girl and boring editing. I would never recommend it to anyone. The story is very poor and poorly shown.- Was this review helpful to you?

Where the Truth Lies.
By thecuckoo (107 reviews) , 01 Apr 2012Very raunchy film and if you like that sort of film then you will enjoy this with all the goings on naked bodies and sex which amongst it all is a plot, which at the end has a twist to it leading to all the answer that the rest of the film fails to deliver. I only picked it because of the two good actors in it.- Was this review helpful to you?

Oh what a shame
By a customer from Dorset , 02 Apr 2011Bacon & Firth are such good actors and totally wasted in this film. When I think of all their good films I am amazed they agreed to feature in this....
The annoying voice-overs also irritated me and although I am no prude there was too much naked flesh for my liking.
All in all a great disappointment.- Was this review helpful to you?

Not relevant to the story in MHO
By a customer from Lytham,St.Annes. , 31 Mar 2011From my personal reaction to this film, which was one of disgust, two things emerged which spoilt the whole film.
The story content of the film was good, definitely
not a Morcombe and Wise duo tho'.Where it was spoilt for me,and I am no prude or voyuer, was the over indulgence in the Porno: sex scenes, and the ever growing four letter word expletives which are creeping more into good films. The English language is brilliant without the use of these four letter words. On TV today the alternative comedians can only get a laugh by their use.Proof? Ken Dodd, and M&W are the masters of innuendo and none swearing.
A good film absolutely ruined also by the cast, excluding Firth and Bacon. The women less said the better.- Was this review helpful to you?
