In this terminally lowbrow comedy from the director of Scary Movie and Scary Movie 2, real-life siblings Marlon and Shawn Wayans play FBI agents and black brothers Marcus and Kevin Copeland. To save their jobs after messing up a drugs bust, the dim-witted duo are forced to don latex masks, flesh-tight miniskirts and receive a full-body blanching in order to impersonate and protect a pair of spoilt, brattish socialites who bear more than a passing resemblance to Paris and Nikki Hilton. The central inter-racial, cross-dressing idea might have provided a clever engine for risk-taking humour, but this one isn't even mildy amusing. Neutered and trite, White Chicks falls back on stale gags such as having a man become besotted with one of the sisters, a schtick that worked in the classic Some Like It Hot but seems a serious failure of imagination on the part of the film's six… count 'em, six… writers. Even the movie's flatulence jokes fall flat, and that takes some doing.
A cross-dressing comedy about crooks that is a long way from what Billy Wilder managed with similar material; this is more Some Like It Dumb and Dumber.
This is the funniest movie I've seen for a long time. The Wayans brothers rock, in front of the camera and behind it!

Dreamworks' latest offering features the voices of Robert de Niro and Will Smith and is well ahead of rival new entry White Chicks, which came in second but grossed less than £1 million during the same period. Those new entries helped to push the Jane Austen-meets-Bollywood musical Bride and... Read more
