This partial remake of the 1942 film Holiday Inn — the Bing Crosby movie that gave the world the Irving Berlin song White Christmas — provided Paramount with an opportunity to introduce its new screen process Vistavision. Crosby's Holiday Inn partner Fred Astaire wasn't available, and Donald O'Connor pulled out, so Danny Kaye reluctantly agreed to second billing to co-star with Crosby, in what proved to be a fortuitous move. Kaye is superb, especially in his knockout dance routine with Vera-Ellen. Veteran Michael Curtiz directed, rightly embracing the sentiment rather than keeping it at bay.

Humdrum musical lifted only by its stars; a revamp of Holiday Inn, which was much better.

    Very enjoyable

If you like old musicals, then this is a great film! Danny Kaye and Bing Crosby are excellent as always, and the music is just SOOOO good.

Truly a classic. Its maybe not for those under 45 (but then again maybe it is). This film really puts you in the Christmas mood. Its great just for that song (White Christmas) alone. Just sit back and enjoy.

Every christmas I have to watch this....Pure escapism....That's what I want.....Great songs, cheery characters.....A hot chocolate,my duvet wrapped round me,snug as a bug......If the winter gets you down bad, seek temporary happiness in this christmas.

This is one of the all time classics - a much loved film as traditional as Christmas itself. Christmas wouldn't be the same without it.

what a wonderful film seeing it again after so long made me think. about how we all rave about new technology with special effects. It has nothing on the rehersals and time that must have been put into getting the dance so perfect as it is in the film, wonderfull evening for me seein this again Lost my self from all the discontent of every day life

STILL A CHRISTMAS CLASSIC, BUT WITH FIFTY YEARS OR MORE GONE BY IT HAS DATED.

BING CROSBY, WHITE CHRISTMAS, STILL A HIGHLIGHT OF THE FILM

    good festive family fun!!!

No yuletide season is complete without a screening of this classic! The stars, the songs, the scenery. Yes, it is old...but that is what makes it so great. And when Bing sings THAT song.......not a dry eye in the house!!!

    Nicest Christmas Film Ever

What a pleasure to watch, they dont make 'em like this anymore.

If you like this, then you must rent the earlier film 'Holiday Inn', to see how they compare.
