    [Highly rated reviewer]

White Squall is based on a true story in the 1960's. A group of lads including Ryan Phillipe, Scott Wolf, Jeremy Sisto ect decided to do sailing in there last year of high school. The ship they sail on is the Albatross. In the story you learn a lot about the teenagers backgrounds and how they cope without there parents being around. As a team they cope with a lot of differcult situations and then disaster stricks.

I would say this was one of the best films I have seen. Not to be missed.

  • The DVD is Full Screen

My review is that this DVD is in Full Screen. It is a cropped, pan'n'scan image. I feel that it is fairly important information to know that half the picture is missing in this film by noted visual stylist as Ridley Scott.

Poor White Squall. I'm sure even GI Jane got a widescreen release. Sad face.

This works up to... the morale lecture

and when it takes place it fails on every level from there on in...what the hell happened to all these actors - except one - have they all just slipped into TV-anonymous or otherwise.

The plot is a bit boring personally. However, the guys are superhot & there is Ryan Philiipe in it so this movie is a must. However, I like the boys more then the movie :)

Considering this is a true story found it absorbing and heart warming.

Sentimentalised attempt to hit back at the compensation/blame culture. But just a bit *too* much sentimentalised.
