This Chinese epic movie is rather long but watchable if you have nothing to do. I felt the characters needed more of a connection or maybe the acting should have been better but something was missing. If there was a love triangle then it was totally missed and the women seemed totally bland, all she did was pose around during battles. It did have a good supporting cast, the special effects were ok but not much of any fight scene. This movie tries to keep you guessing and tries to bring on the battle of wits but in the end it just took too long. Leon Lai should have been replaced as he looked cold and expressionless.

  • Trying to "Be Significant" without anything much to say

The story of the rise of the First Han Emperor is dramatic. It would be hard to go wrong. This film manages it, by trying to do something they must have viewed as SIGNIFICANT. I neither know nor care what it was meant to be. Passable action but mostly disappointing.

I'm a huge fan of many Chinese movies, but this is definitely not one of them. Every close up of the actors riding the horses is cheaply fake. Relationship between characters rather weak and its far too long...
