With Griffin Dunne hot off the back of his triumph in Martin Scorsese's After Hours and Madonna in dire need of a hit after the Shanghai Surprise fiasco, you'd have thought the two stars would have plumped for something more substantial than this woeful attempt at screwball comedy à la Bringing Up Baby. Slouching, chewing gum and mistiming wisecracks with the nonchalance of a rock star convinced her presence is a favour to the producer, Madonna is a shadow of the sassy star of Desperately Seeking Susan. Accepting his second-fiddle status, Dunne gets on with his work quietly and efficiently.

    Another Madonna Turkey.

Saw this when it first came out on vhs many years ago.Thought it was dire then.

Gave it another chance recently, still dire.Trying to be like a fifties/sixties off the wall ,kooky, crazy love story.Madonna why do you make such stinkers.

This is probably the second worst film i've had the misfortune to watch. The first was the ultimate cack Boys in Blue feat Cannon & Ball, remember them. That's how bad Who's That Girl is.Avoid.

    No Release date

Don't know why this is listed. There is no scheduled release date at time of writing, and not likely in near future. The picture is from the VHS release.

Having said that, it's a good film, not great but good, whatever you do, just don't take it seriously, it's supposed to be in the vein of an old slapstick comedy where everyone is either mad, eccentric or naive with exception of the straight male lead. Bizarre and fun with far-fetched plots. Great soundtrack which is typical of 1980s music. Very much a product of it's time (1987).
