A lovingly re-created Depression-era America provides the setting for this beautifully mounted Disney family drama about the life of legendary stunt diver Sonora Webster, who overcame personal tragedy to become a star attraction with her horse-diving act. British-born actress Gabrielle Anwar, whose career has gone off the boil since she appeared in Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead, gives a gutsy performance in the lead role, while veteran actor Cliff Robertson provides the necessary eccentricity as her cranky employer, Dr Carver. The scenes of Anwar's horse plunging 40ft into an enormous tank of water will have dedicated equine fans reaching for the phone.

Soft-centred romantic drama, based on a true story, that effectively captures the flavour of its times.

    Enjoyable Family Film

Perfectly enjoyable family film. Set in the 20's, it follows the life of Sonora Webster, who runs away from home and joins a horse stunt show. She becomes a 'Diving Girl' (diving 40 feet on horseback into

a tank of water). Good performance from Gabrielle Anwar, and overall the film has a good message about achieving your dreams. Awww, good ol' Disney :)
