Like the original 'Wild Things,' the film contains a 3-way with two girls and a guy, but it's not nearly as steamy with moments where one of the actresses was obviously switched with a body double
This isn't a true sequel in the sense of developing or following on from the first film. It is a copy of the original with a slightly different story and completely different characters. It lacks the presence and intensity of the first film, which removes some of the edge of the first one. The director states that he filmed it without the intensity of the original in order to achieve a more open feel. This approach seems to loose any tension however, instead the film just plays out without any real dramatic development.
With all that said, it is still an enjoyable film to watch. At the end of the day that is the point of a thriller - to entertain. This film is entertaining, even if that is the deliberate references to the original and the knowingly over the top scenes. Despite it not matching up to the same standard and not being a true sequel, as a variation of the original, it is an enjoyable thriller.
