Bespectacled, brace-wearing Eliza Thornberry and her eccentric nature documentary-making family are given the feature-length treatment in this latest animated small-screen spin-off from Nickelodeon. Sadly, the vibrant Doctor Dolittle-style fun of The Wild Thornberrys is more palatable in bite-sized servings, but stretched over 85 minutes it rapidly loses its verve. It's not that the film's premise isn't appealing (after all, what child wouldn't be thrilled by a globetrotting little girl who can converse with animals?), the problem is that beyond this remarkable skill, there's not enough plot, or indeed action, to engage young minds for the movie's duration. The storyline, concerning 12-year-old Eliza's struggle against poachers in the Serengeti National Park, effectively hammers home positive messages of environmental awareness and multicultural friendship, which is an admirable achievement. However, when this is accompanied by flat animation, stereotypical characters and an intrusive soundtrack, it all gets a bit tedious.
A popular TV cartoon series moves to the big screen, where it provides pleasant entertainment (if you can pardon the caricature English) of the sort that can be watched more easily on television.

I have always loved the Wild Thornberries, I think they are very exceptional. The company does a good job with the animation. And the story line, both in the series and in this movie are good too. In this film, she got sent back to London by her grandma for 'behaving wildly'. And it puts her in a position that the series doesn't. All in all. It was quite satisfactory. Not the type of film that does 'The Movie' just 'cause all other series are doing it.
I always liked the cartoon show every weekend (and I'm 36). Kids loved it as well. We rented it twice. GREAT
Fab Film for both Adults & kids. I love the thornberrys anyway so im gonna say its great.

This is a great kiddies film... But also recommended for adults too... Full of adventure and magical happenings... An all round good bit of entertainment...
I have always hated the Thornberry family.. I would rather have my tonsils taken out with a plier than watch this rubbish.
We all enjoyed this and I would probably rent it again.
a ok film the children didnot like it as much as some of the other film we have seen .
The children were both absolutely enthralled with this movie. The storyline was good. The photography excellent.
Ages 4 and 7 and 54! All loved it..
