The best television show ever produced. That may sound like hyperbole, but this show is on the level with great literature. I would compare it to the great works of Charles Dickens. Though it details Baltimore, it has a lot to say about how any city functions. Outstanding in every way.
After watching both series of Deadwood, I was at a loss to know what else I could ever watch that would come anywhere its quality of writing. I did not want it to end.
I tried the Wire on the strength of a review I had read. I was hooked almost straight away. It's as good as Deadwood, The Sopranos and NYPD Blue. I rented all three series and loved every minute. This really is top grade writing, storyline, acting etc etc.
Rent it, you will not be disappointed.
Trouble is, How do I follow it?
