What more could you ask for in a movie?By scramblingman from herts , 28 Sep 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]A gentle comedy that doesn't thrust the race issue down your throat, although the intergration of black Caribbean's into white London is one of the central issues of the movie.
The other issue is CRICKET!! What more could you ask for in a movie? I left the movie wanting to see more of the characters, and you can easily see this as a TV series. Also the music is excellent as well.

Nice movieBy a customer from N'ton , 02 Mar 2006Steady family film - great for a sunday afternoon.
Wonderous FilmBy a customer from Fareham , 26 Jan 2006Only the British can make films like this. A real feel good film. Yes it's fairly predictable but extremely enjoyable.
Very atmospheric and the soundtrack is superb. A Jewish boy hopeless at cricket befriends his new West Indian neighbours much to the dislike of his neighbourhood.
Left me with a constant smile.
I absolutely loved this filmBy Schmoo from west sussex , 16 Nov 2005Don't be put off by the fact that it's about cricket - in fact that is a minor side line. The story of two families from different cultures growing up in the early sixties both victims of racial prejudice and how they cope, survive and grow stronger. It really makes you think. Truly wonderful film if only they could all be like this.
FantasticBy a customer from London , 12 Sep 2005This is a great story. Full of emotion.
