Highly charged, warm and engaging road tripBy tquinlan from Bedford , 28 Oct 2003
[Highly rated reviewer]A beautiful film - a touching portrait of teenage friendship and the angst/uncertainty/braggadocio that comes after puberty as young men/boys search for a sexual identity. It sounds heavy, but isn't - it's supremely watchable with touching emotional performances throughout, and the sexual energy is unbelievable.

Funny sexy thoughtfulBy Thegaycritic (125 reviews) , 27 Oct 2013Great teenage coming of age. Sad in places, funny and sexy in others. All three leads were great. I recommend this.
Intrusive voice overBy SBabe (2 reviews) , 28 Aug 2013I was really looking forward to this coming of age story but was quite disappointed and couldn't even finish watching it. I found the voice over quite intrusive and it spoilt me enjoyment of the film.
beautiful melancholyBy a customer , 28 Jun 2013Absolutely stunning! great storyline , interesting style; love the narration - gives an overwhelming sense of sadness on top of the wild, sexed up road trip !
Three for the RoadBy Grenville (41 reviews) , 12 May 2013Although the film is the traditional road/buddy movie, albeit with a highly graphic content, it doesn't quite meet its promise in terms of human warmth and endearment. The characters are likeable, sure, but they don't make the emotional connection with the viewer that would deliver a more compelling film.
5 starsBy theLflower (1 review) , 06 Mar 2013Beautifully shot with gorgeous, sensual cinematography this film is a poignant snap shot of three lives and a beach trip. The idea of truth is bandied around in an interesting and philosophical way but without being too highbrow. Overall I loved this film and as usual the acting of Gael Garcia Bernal is wonderful and underplayed, as is the acting of his co-stars. A brilliant and enjoyable watch.
