This is a great story of two guys, who have been friends since childhood. Amitabh is Kishan and Amjad Khan is Bishan. They get seperated in their youth in order for Amjad Khan to study in England, and when he returns to India, his (Amjad K.) aim is to make his friend India's most popular singer as Kishan has a wonderful voice. Amitabh has lived and grew up in their village and comes to the city for the 1st time. Many things follow the arrival into the city that are packed with comedy in this film. Watch it and you will definately not be disappointed as it contains great songs, emotions and the acting of Amitabh and Amjad Khan ofcourse. Being a Bollywood film the 'bad' guys are obviously there, (Amjad Khan's uncle and cousin-Jeevan and Ranjeet) so do expect good action and 'dishoom dishoom' (bash bang). A very nice film to watch for all those Amitabh and Amjad Khan lovers. For the record, after this film in real life Amitabh and Amjad K. became best friends although they had acted in several films b4 this eg. Sholay, Kasme Vaade, Suhaag, Ram Balram etc.
This is not one of Amitabh Bachan's better films and is very average.
Satte pe Satta or Naseeb are much better!
