LOVEFiLM Review Year One

Two of our favourite funnymen, Jack Black and Michael Cera, find themselves banished from their primitive village and set off on an epic journey through the ancient world.

this comedy film set in Biblical times stars Jack Black (from Shallow Hal, Tropic Thunder and Kungfu Panda) and Michael Cera (who played Nick in Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist).

After being banished from their homeland, neanderthals Zed and Oh embark on a journey through their ancient world.

Along the way, they encounter Adam and Eve (played by Harold Ramis and Rhoda Griffis), Cain and Abel (played by David Cross and Paul Rudd) and Abraham (played by Hank Azaria).

This movie has a likeness to Monty Python's Life of Brian as Zed (played by Jack Black) is looking for some kind of meaning for his life.

Clips for this film were shown during the Super Bowl XLIII.

    Well worth watching !

  • Just not funny

I like Jack Black and I like most of his movies too.

But this is horrible. A half baked notion that could have ended up funny if they had put more effort into it. As it is, we get around 90 minutes of low grade humour.

Failed to raise a single smile and is lucky to get even 1 star. Or perhaps I am just too old for something so juvenile.

The worst movie I've seen in my life! It is an absolute waste of time! Please, don't choice it...for your health and your money, it is quite boring and stupid!

  • You could just watch the trailer!

I was disappointed by this, I rented the film on the strength of the trailer, all the best bits were in the trailer, not really worth watching unless you have nothing else to do or watch!

Possibly Jack Black's worst film and I'm a fan of Jack Black. It had it's moments but none of them worth the time I lost watching it.

  • Absolute garbage

    Awful, don't even bother.

Whilst Black and Cera can get by in previous films with a supporting cast, this film painfully shows their shortcomings as comedians.

Not sure how this got the go-ahead.
