The main presentation for this one is around 45 minutes, a substantial portion of which is taken up by Yngwie in concert footage and in Yngwie in the studio with backing tape playing as if he were on stage. Looks he put about 30 minutes of thought into this and the 'instructional' (very big inverted commas) here consists mainly of him running off a series of signiature licks at full speed, followed by 'slow'-typically somewhere between 70-80% of the original! - no attempt to explain the origins of his neo-classical style and the wider aspects of the music- just straight into a series of mostly ultra-fast licks. Considering one of the central aspects of this technique is the right hand technique you'll be disappointed if you want an explanation of sweep-picking or the finer mechanics of alternate picking/when to use the different techniques etc -this is literally all he has to say on picking 'I don't really think about it... so just do what comes natural'. The only way you can really learn anything from this is by watching and trying to distill the crucial aspects of the technique yourself - at the risk of getting too technical unlike the Gambale wrist as the pivot point technique (which I cannot do btw) YJM technique seems to rely on a very pronounced joint articulation/controlled movement at the thumb mid joint.. you can see that it really works for him but my hand just does not work like this and your's might not either!
Learn Malmsteens hot licks taught by the master himself...this is not for guitar beginners though it is amazing to watch!
Very advanced technical fretboard wizardry...You have been warned!!!
