This film is enjoyable, naturalistic, with good performances. However it totally spoils the positive message put over concerning equality of gay people with an appalling double standard. We get lingering shots of female nudity and heterosexual sex, but when it comes to gay sex it cuts quickly away as though afraid to upset the straight TV audience it was presumably aimed at. This both annoyed me and spoilt what was otherwise a pretty decent film.
A gay romance at the heart of the movie, between Vincent, star swimmer, and Benjamin, new boy at school with a shady past, takes second place to the het relationship between Vincent and No?mie. Pity.
Still, the movie is worth viewing despite its flaws.
So many gay films nowadays are so tacky, or naf, or dreadful... this movie won't change your life, but it's sweet and fun and I didn't cringe at the plot or acting. That's saying a lot in our genre!
