Juno's Jason Reitman comes back with a darker comedy penned once again by Diablo Cody - Charlize Theron excels as a narcissistic and broken woman.

[Highly rated reviewer]A dark comedy drama with an excellent central performance but overall a tedious narrative. Mavis is a self-centred alcoholic who on hearing the news that her ex high school boyfriend has just had a child she (inexplicably) decided to return to her hometown to win him back....or more to steal him from his wife.
The trouble with this is she starts off as funny and naive and turns out to be downright nasty. It's an OK film but I was a bit disaapointed.

Selfish, thoughtless and pointlessBy HazelFairy (26 reviews) from Bedford , 21 May 2013Not entirely sure why I rented this; other than possibly the trailer made it look interesting... Billed as a dark comedy... I didn't see any comedy I'm afraid - just a girl who's never moved on from high school (as characterised as delicately as a sledgehammer by her character ghost penning teen fiction). She is selfish and thoughtless and pointless. Turned off after 25mins!
Not even OKBy a customer , 14 May 2013If I rate a film 'OK' that's because it did nothing for me - neither annoyed nor pleased. This fell below that standard...just about everything about this dull non-dramatic non-comedy annoyed me. So many predictable moments, so little spark in the script (doubly-disappointing as Cody had written the very sharp and witty 'Juno'), performances that lacked heart or insight. Only Patton Oswalt can be excused that charge, however - he at least looked as if he actually wanted us to believe his character. As for the rest...forgettable.
Well thats time I'll never get backBy a customer , 11 May 2013Absolutely pointless film. I was prepared for a dark comedy instead I got a badly penned film and no proper ending. My advise would be do not waste your time
Young Adult - life lessonBy MelissaMarabamma (218 reviews) from South Coast UK , 26 Apr 2013Not a likeable main character who you hope finds their humanity. Not really sure why it had to be made but it is well made.
Fairly goodBy a customer , 26 Apr 2013Young Adult has some quite funny moments but is overall quite depressing. It's a bit random but quite a good watch.
