An excellent story line brilliantly executed by the star cast under Mani Ratnam's classical direction.
Abhishek Bachchan has, for the first time, followed into his father's footsteps playing the traditional 'Angry Man'. His acting in this film will definitely take him to new heights.
Kareena acted really well, as expected, and so did Suresh Oberoi, however, there is still a lot to be desired from Ajay Devgan as he, once again, continues in his same bog standard style of acting.
A film direted by Mani Ratnam who is famous for making Bombay a few years back. He is a director with a difference and I enjoy his plots. Unfortunately the plot in Yuva looks similar to other films and doesn't have an impact on you. However the film has been portrayed differently and credit goes to all the stars who really make this worth watching, especially Abhishek who really plays his role so effectively.
YUVA (translates to Youth) tells the story of three youngsters, and Lallan (Abhishek Bachchan), Michael (Ajay Devgan) and Arjun (Vivek Oberoi).
Lallan is a henchman working for other henchmans and corrup politicians. Michael is a student, who dreams of removing the corrupt political system and Arjun is a student as well, who nurses a desire of settling down in the U.S.
The three youngsters, completely unaware of each other's existence, cross path one day.
The movie starts of by portraying a scene where all three youngesters are in it and than goes of to explain how they all reached to that scene starting with Lallan's story, than Michaels and than Arjun's..
Quite a different way of portraying it...
At the end there is a very mind boggling action scene which does keep you awed ...
it is one of the better movies coming out of bollywood. the movie has good characterisation. the performances of all actors are commendable. must see.

A title like Yuva, an impressive star cast and above all, Mani Ratnam, the expectations are bound to be great. But Yuva fails to impress. Its a very novel way of mixing 3 different stories into one, which was done erlier in Dil Vil Pyar Vyar. Yuva is likeable, but in parts. The first story is that of Abhishek-Rani. And both deliver a good performance. Ajay Devgan-Esha Deol story is the least impressive. Vivek-Kareena story is also not that good. But Kareena is very good with less make-up and a spontaneous performance. Music is average. All in all, can be watched once.

Typical Maniratnam movie shedding light on the issues faced in the Indian society at the moment. This movie tries to tackle 3 different issues together viz. The Politician-Criminal nexus, lack of young leaders in the Indian political system and the brain drain to the west.
The characterisation is good and the star cast lives upto expectations, especially Abhishek who is fascinating to watch.Ajay Devgan is good as well, however after the movie is over you really can't help wondering if Vivek-Kareena were really required in the storyline. The movie would have been much better if it was about 20 mins short.
the film was ok.not up to my expectation.i expected a better movie from sri mani ratnam.
snything that win's awards for acting is well worth a watch.
Nice movie. Good direction. Excellent work by Abhishek. First time i felt that he is the son of the mega star'amitabh bachhan'.Vivek oberoi was good. Ajaj couldn't come to the expectations. Some thing more is expected from a nice actor like him. Anyways, excellent team work. Should be seen by everybody-atleast once.
A new style of presentation with good photography. Rani Mukherjee looked stunning. A new image for Abhishek although not quite upto it. Over all OK to watch once. Does not lead you anywhere at the end though!
Direction was good, but movie lack ending properly.People who are fans of mani ratham worth watching once
