Also known as Two Acres of Land, this is a fascinating hybrid of Bollywood musical and postwar European film-making. It's a shamelessly emotive melodrama, and Balraj Sahni gives the performance of his career as the peasant drawn to the city to save his home from unscrupulous speculators. The social influence of home-grown innovators Nitin Bose and Satyajit Ray can be detected throughout, but the key inspiration is that of the Italian neorealist Vittorio De Sica, not only in the authentic use of location and the resort to sentimental humanism, but also in the plot borrowings from Bicycle Thieves and Shoeshine.

    Losing the plot !!!

Zameen had the potential of being a very interesting story. However along the way the director totally lost the plot.

Good performances by Ajay Devgan and Abhishek bachan cannot lift a film thats been badly made.

A topical plot involving cross border terrorism, tries to cash in on the Khandahar hijacking story and so totally fails to deliver.

The action sequeces are bad to say the least. Music is average...Bipasha Basu is eyecandy ....and the film is boring !!!

Do not advise anyone to lose 2 1/2 hours of their life on this .

    Watchable Movie

A Good storyline to the movie. A pakistani terrorist is caputared and then his colleagues hijack a plane and want his release. This movie is watchable if you dont have anything else 2 do.
