Daryl Zero is a hero - but a hilariously dysfunctional one. A loner who's scared to go out socially, he only has his work, and a sharply-honed power of impartial observation, which has sealed his reputation as the world's most effective criminal investigator! Zero and his fast-talking front man, Steve Arlo, are hired by blackmail victim Gregory Stark who has lost the keys to a safety deposit box, and refuses to give any clues as to the contents. This case is right up Daryl's street. But something stands in his way as he unexpectedly finds himself drawn to an intriguing paramedic.

    Funny, intelligent and heartwarming.......

    I first saw this movie a few years ago and I was blown away by it. Bill Pullman stars as a seriously messed up private detective known as Daryl Zero. To the outside world Daryl is the best PI around but when not solving mysteries he is a reclusive freak incapable of interacting with people. When Daryl takes on his latest case, involving a missing set of keys and blackmail he meets the woman played by Kim Dickens. Over the course of the film Daryl is drawn to the woman and falls in love. A lot happens in this movie and it never fails to be excellent viewing. The acting is excellent, the story is intelligent and has some nice twists along the way, and the ending is beautifully played.

    One to watch if you enjoy funny, romantic heartwarming movies.
