Zombie Holocaust

Fabrizio De Angelis, the producer of Lucio Fulci's amazing ZOMBI 2, tried to cash in on that film's success by financing this zombie/cannibal hybrid film that not only features ZOMBI 2's lead actor, Ian McCulloch, but also some of its footage. The result is an often hilarious gore fest that is far less serious than Fulci's film, but whose sheer lunacy makes up for any of its shortcomings. The story follows Dr. Peter Chandler (McCulloch) and a reporter named Lori (Delli Colli) who discover a rash of cannibalism in New York. Soon the two have traced the cannibalistic activity to a remote island where they encounter a tribe of cannibals and a mad scientist who appears to be experimenting with reanimating dead corpses. The result of this work is four bloodthirsty zombies who roam the island and, along with the cannibals, wreak havoc on Lori and Dr. Peter's expedition.

Hack director Marino Girolami's legendary Italian exploitation item is a gory mess in more ways than one. Doctor Alexandra Delli Colli and scientist Ian McCullough go to a tiny Pacific island to investigate native rites involving human sacrifice and encounter mad surgeon Donald O'Brien who is experimenting with zombie transplants to extend human life. Combining the cannibal and living dead genres for extra shock value, Girolami then briskly piles on the gratuitous carnage and extreme splatter with little time for logic. That latter aspect was made even worse when the American distribution company cut the original Italian opening, added unrelated footage and released it under the title Dr Butcher MD. In either version, the sole reason for its existence is to disgust, sicken and shock. You have been warned.

Sherry Buchanan Naked!!! (shes worth 5 stars but the films so bad i took away 4 of 'em)

the movie is really bad not to mention that the title is totally misleading...there are about 5 zombies in the whole film...poorly dubed and scripted and shot and acted and directed and, well just about everything was poor....the only upside was the hot leading lady gets naked quite alot and shows a hell of alot for a movie this old and not streight porn...i love old horror movies but this one really isnt worth watching, only watch if youve already exhausted the classics George A Romero, the origional Zombie series from italy, the romero remakes and what not

    Blood thirsty!

Very slow start, but you need to watch to get the idea of the story. Easy to follow storyline, but you do need a strong stomach mainly due to the cannibals and their eating habits! As for the zombies, well, i was quite upset. They were 'manmade' and not at all like the zombies i've grown to love over the years! But, the story was believable even if a little bit over the top. Got the impression that the leading woman fancied herself a bit! Worth a watch, but don't read too much into the title of this story, there aren't many zombies at all!
