Zombieland - A road movie with guts
By Monkeymanbob (25 reviews) from Folkestone , 08 Oct 2009[Highly rated reviewer]
First time director Fleischer delivers jumps, humour and a little bit of pathos with this flick.
Jesse Eisenberg plays the perpetually scared Colombus with such an awkwardness and fear that you can't help feel for him and understand his need for order in the rules he lives his life by. In contrast Woody Harrelson's Tallahasse is everything that Colombus isn't, he's a pain in the rear, but by golly he's good at killing zombies (though he still to claim zombie kill of the week).
Basically a road movie with zombies and a bit of romance Zombieland is more comedy than horror and will not unseat Drag Me To Hell as the best horror of recent times, but it's still one hell of a ride.
The down side? The romance part, it's not needed and the scenes could have been put ot better use with either the development of the main leads relationship, or even better more zombies, and killing of said zombies.
Watch and enjoy and see how many movie references you can spot in 80-odd minutes.- Was this review helpful to you?

(430)Core viewing for Zombie aficionados
By a customer , 19 May 2013I take my Zombies very seriously so I was a bit apprehensive about this being ostensibly a comedy. However, this proved to be an inspired rendition and didn't diminish my abiding fascination with the genre one bit.- Was this review helpful to you?

Disappointing zombie mish-mash
By FullofStars (41 reviews) from Scotland , 13 Apr 2013Bill Murray must have got lost on his way to the bathroom and makes a zombie like performance in this dreary horror-comedy. Woody H gives another wooden performance....how long has it been since he's given a good one? Not scary enough for a horror and certainly not funny enough for a comedy. Eisenberg starts it off well but he is soon lost amongst the rubbish!- Was this review helpful to you?

Don't forget to Double Tap!
By missmartin (21 reviews) , 11 Apr 2013Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg and Zombies! What is not to like? This movie is a lighthearted zombie movie - an American Shaun Of The Dead, with the difference of providing you with a helpful guide to surviving a Zombie apocalypse! Plus a brilliant cameo from Bill Murray, adds to the overall likeability factor of this film. Don't forget to Double Tap!- Was this review helpful to you?

Zombie love
By a customer , 14 Jan 2013A love story with an on form Woody Harrelson, comedic Evil Deadesque gore, Emma Stone and scenes/settings reminiscent of Left for Dead or Dead rising's unchained psychotic killing sprees. What else do you need?- Was this review helpful to you?
