I suppose the true test of a classic film is how well it ages over the years. When the special effects are well? no longer special, is the film still watchable and, more importantly, enjoyable? I think Zulu passes that test with full marks! Still dramatic and engaging, this is one of the few films I have watched (and enjoyed) well over 30 times and has to count as one of the all-time top-ten historical/war/action films. Signs of future greatness from Michael Caine and sterling performances from Stanley Baker and Jack Hawkins mean that this is not going to be bettered for some time. A mention must go to the excellent supporting cast who add their own charms to the film and also to the magnificent setting (the ?stranded in the middle of nowhere? feel is second to none) and hundreds of extras who made this film so believable. Of course, it goes without saying that anyone with even a little Welsh blood in them cannot fail to be stirred by the story of these men battling (and singing) against the odds but I would recommend this film to anyone who hasn?t seen it! And if you have seen it, why not enjoy it again (and again and again)!

An outstanding movie. Baker, Caine, Booth, each stood out in their respective roles. The Zulu nation was and still should be commended for the part they played.

This film is a fine testament to the bravery of those who fought at the battle of Rorke's drift. One can but respect such bravery. This film represents the best of British and is a grand epic.

This is an interesting movie but I was a bit disappointed by the beginning which was a bit too stretched to the limit, too long with no action, just dancing by the Zulus. A useless bit in the movie. The story was too slow to get on with it and it did not go straight to the point fast enough. A bit of a waste in my opinion! This early part of the movie could have been cut at least by 20 minutes. For the rest, the setting, the acting, the fighting and everything else were very well done.

Brilliant is the only word to describe this film. With an all star cast , Michael caine is outstanding and stanley baker does not dissapoint. the acction comes thick and fast and you can imagine how horrendous it must have been for those soldiers who actually fought that battle. wonderful film making.

Wow! Just wow! Nothing glorious in this hard fought battle against the brave zulu warriors defending their homeland. Read up on your history and contemplate how you would have felt on either side. Heros on both sides - this is epic cinema at its best - gritty, realistic but no unecessary glamour
