Heartrending Documentary
By a customer from Cambridge, UK , 29 Jan 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
This Oscar-nominated documentary follows the lives of Romanian street children as they struggle to survive. Occasionally hard to watch, it nevertheless, pays off. Sometimes asking more questions than it answers, the filmmaker's commitment to telling these children's stories, never falters.- Was this review helpful to you?

(4)Romanian Children Unwanted and Unloved
By RomanianCommunityUK (1 review) from Skelmersdale, England , 16 Nov 2011I am a Romanian lad myself and i have been living in the UK for 11 years now been here since i was 12. I feel very sorry for those children who doesn't have a home and their parents not wanting them. There is shelter for children in Romania but they cant cope with the amount of children that are still on the street. God bless them all , look after them and protect them as we are all your children.- Was this review helpful to you?

An absolute shame.
By doc1234 (9 reviews) from GLASGOW , 02 Dec 2009A briliant coverage of the romanian kids, some very brave to walk away from their parents as they were absolute ar*****es. Very disturbing film but extremely informative as to the goverments concern of these kids which was non existent. The way the general public walked by these kids at the metro(tube etc) was either staged, directed or very sad.
Aint life a bast**d at times ??

CHILDREN UNDERGROUND
By BlackRaven (5 reviews) from cardiff , 23 Nov 2009This documentary is utterly heartwrenching. It left me in a stunned silence - Romania is part of the EU - yet it allows its beautiful children to fade into oblivion. These children seem to be an inconvenient backdrop to commuters daily lives. Their suffering and fear, I cannot imagine. I watched it and got then re-watched it with my two children aged 14 and 10. It has certainly given us all education about how lucky we are living in a country where there is a safety net. Britain is far from perfect, but seeing this film certainly made me feel lucky.- Was this review helpful to you?
