Shaken, not stirred...

This is one of the more decent James Bond games made by EA before the license has moved to Activision (where we have still yet to see a product released).
It is also different from other James Bond games in that it is not a First Person Shooter, but in the third person camera view. It is great to see Bon in front of you, instead of an anonymous face, and the Pierce Brosnan look is very accurate.
The game is very cinematic, with a pre-credits sequence and even its own theme tune. There are plenty of gadgets to get used to, including the grapple, which is great fun to use, and see Bond jumping off the top of tall buildings.
The graphics still hold up today, and are actually better than some Xbox 360 games, even if it is a little blurry, not being in HD.
The driving sections are solid, if a little easier to complete than the on-foot sections, but it keeps them fun.
My only real gripe is how the game has aged regarding the controls. After how well Gears of War used a third person view, it changed how the industry made those type of games. Now four years old, the controls in this game are a little clunky and stiff in comparison to today's more modern games. I'm sure back in 04, though, it was more than acceptable.- Was this review helpful to you?
