Worth a shot.

This is my first basketball title for a long time so I'm sure some people may disagree with a few points.
It's a great basketball game, nice physics, really realistic player movement, the new flick controls work well.
Steep learning curve with no prompt to tutorials when you initially slip the disc in, an overly complicated and horrible to use menu system.
As far as the music is concerned, if you don't like Jay Z you might want to toggle that mute switch as a large percentage is his, being the exec producer and all, to top that is how all of the rap tracks are horribly chopped up to disguise expletives instead of just blanking them out, it doesn't sound like a big deal, but it is. The track list is pretty strange as well, from Jay and Kanye to U2 and Coldplay.
These little annoyances are quickly over looked as soon as you get into a game though, it's a no brainier for basketball fans, and for casual fans like myself it's worth a shot, just remember to hit the tutorials up first.- Was this review helpful to you?

Good fun but........
By a customer , 05 May 2013Good fun, plays reasonably well, I haven't played any nba games since ea stopped doing them and I'm sorry to say 2ks efforts just don't match up, it just hasn't got that same polish that ea's nba games had, the ai is terrible when playing the computer it cheats ALOT you can still win but it really does spoil the overall feel, when it wants to score it will there is nothing you can do and its steal %s are off the record its a bit of a joke, also you see the players bumbling around bumping into each other trying to get into position it's funny but looks so cheap same as the player models no where near as detailed as ea, again they look funny but it spoils it, what's up with the commentary wheres all the classic nba sayings, normally a couple of plays have gone by and they are still going on about something pointless, but it is a fun game especially for nba fans, and they have included all the classic teams throughout the years which is a great touch, overall good fun game but with major flaws, come on ea buy the licence back please your games were a cut above these 2k efforts- Was this review helpful to you?
